True Beauty Cost is a small, independent site that answers one question other beauty content usually dodges: does the at-home version save you money? For each tool or treatment we build a free calculator that runs the real cost of ownership (break-even, cost per use, and lifetime savings versus the salon) so you can decide with numbers instead of vibes.

Who writes this

Everything here is produced by the True Beauty Cost editorial team, a small independent group that builds the calculators, researches the prices, and writes the guides and review digests. We are not the dermatologists, dentists or stylists whose reviews we summarize; our job is to gather what the real experts and long-term users say, run the cost of ownership honestly, and present it clearly. Every guide is dated and links to how we research, so you can see the method behind the numbers.

How the numbers work

Every calculator is driven by a transparent formula and a set of editable defaults. The default prices are illustrative 2026 estimates gathered from retailers, brand sites and salon-pricing data, and they vary by location and retailer, so the inputs are yours to change. The math is unit-tested, because these are numbers about money and they should hold up.

How we make money

The site is free. We earn through affiliate links (including the Amazon Associates Program and Skimlinks) and display advertising. If you buy through one of our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That revenue never changes the calculation: a product does not get a better break-even because it pays us. What this site is not

We compare cost, not medical or safety outcomes. For treatments like peels, microneedling, teeth whitening and microblading, the calculators look at price only and are not medical advice. Always consult a licensed professional before any procedure.
